Tokyo Ghoul

 Tokyo Ghoul

6/28/22

Time for another review and this time we have "Tokyo Ghoul" Even when you probably haven't seen this anime I'm sure you've seen or heard some images or videos going around online of it but didn't know what it was until now. Tokyo Ghoul is a action, fantasy, horror anime.

Tokyo Ghoul's story is about a sinister threat is invading Tokyo; a flesh-eating "ghouls" who appear identical to humans and blend into their population. Reserved college student Ken Kaneki buries his nose in books and avoids the news of the growing crisis. However, the appearance of an attractive woman Rize Kamishiro shatters his solitude when she forwardly asks him on a date.

While walking Rize home, Kaneki discovers she isn't as kind as she first appeared, and she has led him on with sinister intent. After a tragic struggle, he later awakens in a hospital to learn his life was saved by transplanting the now deceased Rize's organs into his own body.
Kaneki's body begins to change in horrifying ways, and he transforms into a human-ghoul hybrid. As he embarks on his new dreadful journey, Kaneki clings to his humanity in the evolving bloody conflict between society's new monsters and the government agents who hunt them. Now he has to figure out how to live the rest of his life with the drastic turn.

The summary was a bit chunky today since I wanted everyone to be in the loop of what it was about. But let's review it I'll give it a 6/10 which is the lowest of my reviews. The reason it's the lowest is because after the amazing iconic season one they had the other seasons just felt depressing. Mainly because they didn't cover much from the manga and left people questioning of what was going on. Season 2 was alright but still wasn't good enough to budge the review. After season 1 it just felt like it was lazily put together and disrespectful to fans of the manga and some newer fans. If they weren't going to follow the manga then there was really no point in continuing the story after the first season. The manga was already highly liked by everyone who's read it. Like many other fans I truly believe this anime could of been a top and possibly iconic anime of the decade but it's a shame how it was treated. But even with all these negatives it's still a very popular anime that many fans hope we'll get a remake to truly show the potential it has.
