Fruit Basket

 Fruit Basket

6/28/22

Hello and welcome back to another anime review today we will be reviewing an anime called "Fruit Basket" It is filled with Drama, Romance, Comedy and Fantasy.

Like usual before we get into the review it's time for a little summary of what this is about. We follow the main character Tohru Honda, an orphan girl who, after meeting Yuki, Kyo, and Shigure Sohma, learns that 13 members of the Sohma family are possessed by the animals of the Chinese zodiac, and are cursed to turn into their animal forms when they are weak, stressed, or when they are embraced by anyone of the opposite sex that is not possessed by a spirit of the zodiac. As the series progresses, Tohru learns of the hardships and pain faced by the afflicted members of the Sohma family, and through her own generous and loving nature, helps heal their emotional wounds. As she learns more about Yuki, Kyo, and the rest of the mysterious Sohma family, Tohru also learns more about herself and how much others care for her.
(just some of the main characters found in the show)
I have watched a lot of Rom-coms but this one is something special. The entire series just felt like one big ride. The drama and romance truly shine just seeing the drama between Tohru and the Soma family as they attempt to get along. The romance is well there's not really much I can say about it without saying any spoilers, but it is defiantly an emotional trip seeing the journey of the love and it is evolving into something much more is amazing to see. Of course, it has a lot of comedy which really brightens people up when the show starts getting into a dark period.
It truly made me feel warm-hearted watching it, I loved every single second. If you take the time to look at other reviews online, you will mostly see others saying the same thing because the show is just that good.

I'll give it a 9/10. The story truly adds a lot to the total. The character development of the Soma family is also amazing to see along with the backstory of each character. I could talk about this for days and days, but it'll be a bit long. I would say if you were to watch any of these animes that I have reviewed I would highly suggest you watch this one. But don't forget to bring some tissues and ice cream while watching it or else you'll regret not bringing them.
